During Silent Contemplative Prayer I have had wonderful visions, received messages to preach, revelation to teach, prophetic words to give to both individuals and churches; I have even experienced being spiritually transported to another place and other times. These experiences have been profound, but they are not why I am there.
When I come to my daily place of Silent Contemplative Prayer to the best of my ability I do so agenda free. I am not looking to see something, not hoping to hear anything, not longing to go anywhere. I am there to simply be with Him in the silence, solitude, and stillness of those precious few moments. That is more than enough. The rest is up to Him. If He comes with another agenda, that is good. I don't. It is my desire to simply be satisfied with Him.
Our fall was, has always been, and always will be, that we aren’t satisfied in God and what He gives. We hunger for something more, something other. ~ Ann Voskamp, One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are
