This world is too full.
The world is too full of chaos, confusion, crisis, conflict, competition.
God's antidote is silence, stillness, simplicity, solitude before God; the Scriptues and Sacraments received as gifts from God; and servanthood our reponse to His call.
Notice how the world's words sound sharp, hard, cutting.
God's antidote sounds soft and gentle, because it is.
When we come out of
chaos into silence the
noise stops and the
silence calms our soul.
When we come out of chaos into silence the noise stops and the silence calms our soul.
When we come out of confusion into simplicity the stress melts away and we enter into joy.
When we come out of crisis into stillness we discover God is in control and we enter His peace.
When we come out of conflict into solitude it stills our mind and quiets our heart.
When we feast on Christ in the Scriptures and the Sacraments our soul is satisfied.
When we come out of competition into servanthood we become fulfilled in who we really are and we are content.
Contemplative Christianity is not just good for us spiritually but is a wonderful cure for the diseases caused by the stress of life in the 21st century.
It makes all of life better.
